Choosing to become baptized is an important step in your spiritual life. It shows your genuine love for the Creator and your desire to live the best life you can.

No matter if you are 50 years old, or you're wishing to have your newborn child brought into the loving gracing of the Creator, we are there to provide the ceremony you desire.

Spiritual and religious ceremonies are available. Not sure which to select? Which one sound like you.

Spiritual

1. You were brought up in the church, but you no longer wish to practice your faith.
2. You believe in a higher power, but you want your child(ren) to make their own decisions about religion
3. You are an Interfaith couple and this is a neutral compromise

Religious

1. You were brought up in the church and wish to pass on the traditions
2. You do not have a church home at this time, however, still want to have the blessing of baptism
3. You are new to Christianity and wish to complete your journey with God
4. You are older and wish to renew your commitment to God. Now you understand.

Don't Come Any Closer...

Finding happiness...Finding love...finding "the one"...this great quest is drummed into our collective heads from the time we are very young. The quest alone can kill you - or at least make you reevaluate your world on an almost daily basis. But, for purposes of today's diatribe, let's jump to the point where you've found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

The Little Tree Church in Tustin, CA

I had the opportunity to perform a wonderful infant baptism in Tustin this past week. Since I am a mobile officiant, I am able to visit various venues within Southern California. I was given the description “ a little church in the middle of it all”. It was just that. I loved the location so much, I thought that I would share it with you.

The Story of the Little Tree Church:
After we completed the construction of Jamestown Village in 1962, I was in a quandary as to what to do with the oak tree that used to stand at the corner of the barn before the buildings were demolished. Jamestown Village, incidentally, is the site of the old Crawford farm house.

I felt that I should do something special around this oak tree. Flowers? Everybody plants flowers. A tree house? No, kids would get hurt. Then my thoughts drifted back to my childhood in Columbia, Tennessee.

There back about 1912, I used to drive my grandmother, in a horse and buggy, six miles into the country once about every three months to the Hopewell Church that she attended before the Civil War. That gave me the idea, and the solution for the oak tree.

So the little tree church is actually Grandma’s church in miniature. But with the oak tree growing through the middle of it.

It seats eight people, has an organ. The pulpit is made of a large rock elevated on brick up to pulpit height.
The church is often used for weddings. The atmosphere here is more romantic than the large churches offer and the couple doesn’t have that big bill hanging over their heads to spoil the honeymoon.

The tree has since been removed, however, the charm of this little church has not changed. This was the perfect place to hold a baptism.

Naming Ceremony

Some families are looking for an addition to, or an alternative to a Baptism or Christening ceremony. These families can be either non-religious or religious and are interested in including friends and relatives from multi-cultural backgrounds in a non-restrictive ceremony, or wish to celebrate the traditions of their ancestry; these families hold a Naming Ceremony.

This is an event where parents publicly welcome their children into the world and give them well wishes and blessings. Compared to a Baptism or Christening, a naming ceremony is more festive and can be held on any day of the week at any time. The child can be either a newborn or a teenager. Adopted children can benefit from this service as well. You have lovingly chosen to make them apart of your family and give them your name; here is a way to celebrate publicly.

There aren't any rules as to how many people you can invite to a Naming Ceremony. You can have a smaller event with just family and close friends, or you can have a large ceremony. The best idea is to invite friends and family who have a high respect for your belief system and that you think
