add a special touch to your wedding - 4 part series

I am excited about sharing a 4 part series on I Do Radio, where we will discuss the special touches you can add to your wedding ceremony. Each bridal couple is different, so I will discuss 4 different ceremonies in which you can show off your personal style.

Beginning the series is the Rose Ceremony on September 3rd. This ceremony can be done with either the mothers of the B & G, or done as a couple – we will go over each. The second element is the Unity Candle ceremony. We will discuss on September 17th, why this has been such a favorite of bridal couples and how to perform this special touch.

Starting out the month on October 1st, we will discuss element number three, the Bread & Wine ceremony. The Bread & Wine ceremony is a modern touch to a age old traditional and religious celebration. We will give you the info to decide if it is for you.

Rounding out our 4 part series, is the Sand Ceremony on October 15th. Next to the unity candle, the Sand Ceremony is gaining in popularity. We will explain how to determine your look of sand.

I look forward to this series and hope you will as well.

my prayers go out to the Mac family

“Bernie Mac has passed away due to complications from pneumonia. He was 50.” Announced the news anchor.

When I heard the news of Bernie Mac passing away, I was sadden. Thought I did not know him personally he has been to my home many times. I have watched The Bernie Mac Show, and watched Bernie & George in Ocean’s Twelve and Thirteen and have shook hands with him in Hollywood.

My heart goes out to the Mac family; you are in my prayers.

Bernie Mac you will be missed.

Premade Emergency Kits for Ms. Mrs. and Mr.

I am pretty new to the idea of blogging for myself, but I love to leave comments on the numerous blogs that I read. Well, I was sent an email about 1 month ago, that included a link to a blog that was in general about wedding stuff. That blog contained a link that sent me to MsAndMrs.com. From the moment I landed on the first page, I knew that I wanted to share this information with my couples. Msandmrs.com offers emergency kits for various situations. The ones, I want to share are for wedding related issues.

There is one for the groom called “the groom's survival kit”, the bridesmaids called “the bridesmaid survival kit”, one for the bride called “bridessentials” that includes something blue, as well as one for the wedding day itself., called “wedding day survival kit”. They all include items like pins, deodorant, hair spray, lent remover, shaving cream, mending kit…I think you get the idea.

They range in price from $25 -$45 dollars. This would be a really cute gift to give at the bridal shower. Take a look – www.msandmrs.com

China quake death toll could rise to 50,000

Being a mother, my heart goes out to all of the families affected by the earthquake in China. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to blog about it – but I feel that I should, because my heart is heavy for them, as I see the many pictures on the news and online.

CNN just showed one mother waiting - for days - to find her daughter. When the workers found the child and pulled her from the rubble, her mother started to weep. A mother never loses hope, even when things look grim. But this was the blow that brought her to her knees. Being a mother she tried to go to her, but a gentleman with her, pulled her back and cradled her in his arms.

Prayers for peace I send to you Mothers…prayers to heal your heart, I send your way.

California’s Supreme Court Overturns Gay Ban

California’s Supreme Court has just overturned the ban on gay marriage in the state. You may remember back in 2004, when Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco allowed marriage licenses to be issued. Later that was overturned.

So what does this mean for the “state of marriage” - how do you feel about it?

Wedding of Jenna Bush - White House Celebrates

Congratulatiosn to the Bush family on the wedding of daughter Jenna Bush to Henry Hager.

According to sources, they were engaged on August 15, 2007. Henry chose to ask for Laura hand the old fashion way – he asked President Bush first. I am sure that was an interesting conversation – but it seems like he pulled it off with a successful ending.

Henry Hager is a 29 year old MBA student at the prestigious University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Prior to that Henry worked for Karl Rove and the commerce department. Henry’s father is the former lieutenant governor of Virginia. Jenna is a teacher at a charter school in DC, as well as an author.

The ring, I read, belonged to the Henry’s great-grandmother, but was reset with blue sapphires on each side. The ring has been called “very modest” – most people thought it would be 8cts – however, the ring is very fitting for her hand.

It appears that everyone was transported onto the ranch for security reasons – but attendance looks great.

Again, congratulations to the First Family on the wedding of Jenna Bush!

Wedding at The Sky Room

There are many locations to choose from, to hold your wedding, but I really like one place in particular – The Sky Room, in downtown Long Beach. The view at night is absolutely beautiful! The Sky Room, has an art deco style, so the black and gold with the shimmer of the lights compliment each other nicely.

In early April, I married a wonderful couple, Melissa & Paul, that chose to have their wedding and dinner there, making for a very intimate and elegant wedding. As night fell, the lights of the Queen Mary and the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, began to shimmer in the distance.

Every time I am able to perform a wedding at The Sky Room, I am impressed with the view of Long Beach. If you would like to find out more, visit TheSkyRoom.com

I Do Radio

Listen to I Do Radio on internet talk radio

Stop by anytime. If you have a question, I have an answer.

A Beautiful Location To Have Your Wedding

Being apart of the wedding industry, I give my bridal couples all that I can, to assist them with their ceremony woes. Because, I am not an event planner, I cant suggest location based on their “track record of service”, but do offer location suggestions, if I have performed a wedding there, and it was a great location.

My first suggestion of many is Trump National Golf Club. Located on the bluffs of Palos Verdes, this venue is not only a great choice for a wedding (no complaints from the bridal couple), but one that offers a spectacular view.

The ballroom was absolutely gorgeous! According to the website, it sets 300. The French doors offer a grand entrance for all that pass through. To find out more about Trump National Golf Club's Wedding services, click here.

Have a great Wedding!

Baptism & Christening

Blessing your child with a Baptism or Christening can be done anywhere that you and your family wish to celebrate it. A gathering of loving well wishers is a powerful beginning and all that is needed to start your child on a new path with the Divine.

If you have chosen Godparents, they are encouraged to attend. This is their opportunity to show their intensions and to publicly recognize the presence of that Divine spark within your child.

The same service will be performed with older children as it is with an infant, with one exception-the child will be asked of his/her intensions if they are 12 years old or older.

Adopted children can also receive this blessing.

Stop by Blessings All Around , Rev. Angela Butts-Chester, D.D., will be more than happy to go over everything with you.

Family Blessings

Congratulations, on making the decision to bless your family!

Our families have always been there, celebrating with us our achievements and there with a gentle word for our mishaps. No matter if you are a family of two parents and three children or one parent and a child, family is where the heart is.

Family Blessings are a way of showing all that you believe that this relationship is a very important part of your life. Either as a gift from another person, or simply a decision made by the whole, this blessings is the perfect spiritual decision.

Stop by http://www.blessingsallaround.com/ to find out more.

Accomplishments of Our Children

Accomplishments of our Children

Our children are the most important people in our lives. From the time they are born, we wish only the best for them. Preparing them for the future is not a chore, but a responsibility that you take on willingly and honorably.

Before you know it, high school graduation is here, and college letters are arriving in the mail. You know that selecting the perfect higher learning institution will give them a jump start into Corporate America, so only the best will do.

In a blink of an eye, your son or daughter will be getting married and starting a family of his/her own. Their career is booming and the cycling of life turns once again.

The cycles that our families go through are often times no different than another’s. They make speak another language, or have a different diet, but one thing holds true – our parents will always be proud of us and our accomplishments. Celebrate your child’s successes early and watch their confidence level grow.

Ceremonies available:

~ Celebrating our daughters
~ Celebrating our sons
~ Kindergarten Graduation
~ High School Graduation ~ College Graduation
